Volunteer Opportunities

Day of Caring
In late September, UWTC hosts our annual Day of Caring, the largest single day of volunteerism in Thurston County. If you or your company want to participate in this awesome event, please let us know. There is always room for more volunteers!

Point in Time Count
United Way works with Thurston County Public Health and Social Services to complete the local PIT count. The count is an effort to determine how many people are experiencing homelessness in Thurston County. Events, outreach, and direct provider engagements are the key avenues for the county. United Way provides hygiene kits to those who are surveyed and volunteers to help with events.

Volunteer Opportunities for Businesses
UWTC partners with dozens of local nonprofits, educational institutions, and public agencies and stays up to date on their volunteer needs. Our United team will support you and your business in identifying and connecting you with opportunities that may be a good fit. If your team wants to do a single event or ongoing projects, we can help!

Disaster Relief Volunteers
United Way of Thurston County is building a volunteer base for disaster relief efforts. Individuals will be trained in different aspects of disaster response according to interests and skills. When a disaster hits Thurston County we want to respond, not only with our financial resources, but with volunteer aid as well. We are working to have over 500 volunteers signed up, trained, and ready for any disaster.
