United Way of Thurston County (UWTC), in partnership with local organizations and government agencies, is proud to lead the 2025 Point in Time (PIT) Homeless Census Count. This critical initiative aims to document and understand homelessness in Thurston County, offering vital resources and support to individuals and families in need.
The PIT Count is a collaborative effort supported by Innovations Human Trafficking Collaborative, Built For Zero, City of Olympia, City of Tumwater, Thurston County, Partners in Prevention Education, Community Youth Services, Interfaith Works, Olympia Mutual Aid Partners, OlyMap, ROOF Community Services, Salvation Army, Timberland Regional Library, South Puget Sound Community College, and Evergreen. Volunteer and Donation Opportunities
Community members are invited to participate in meaningful ways.
- Volunteer Sorting Events: Help sort donations on January 10, 17, and 24.
- Hygiene Kit Assembly: Join us on Thursday, January 23, to assemble hygiene kits for distribution.
- Survey Assistance: Volunteers are needed to support the PIT Count from January 30 through February 6.

Several events will offer services, food, and support to individuals experiencing homelessness:
1. Homeless Connect at Sergio’s Place

- Services: Coffee, food, haircuts, health clinic, and veterinary care
2. Rosie’s Place Shelter Services
- Location: 520 Pear St SE, Olympia, WA 98501
- Date: January 30, 12 PM – 3 PM
- Services: Haircuts, karaoke, food
3. Outreach Event (Bloc Party)
- Location: 824 5th Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501
- Date: February 5, 11 AM – 5 PM
- Services: Food and various service providers on site
4. Senior Events at Senior Services for South Sound
- Lacey Location: 6757 Pacific Ave SE, Lacey, WA 98503
- Olympia Location: 222 Columbia St NW, Olympia, WA 98501
- Amenities: Coffee, warming spaces, and family-friendly hangout spaces
